The Clara Luper Civil Rights Center, a $17 million project honoring Oklahoma City’s civil rights history, broke ground Wednesday near the historic Freedom Center.
The Clara Luper Freedom Center has unveiled a new exhibit, “Inside These Walls: The History of the Freedom Center,” showcasing the legacy of Oklahoma City’s civil rights movement and the efforts that helped end segregation.
This year presents a rare crossroads of remembrance and possibility. Our nation marks its 250th anniversary in 2026, while Route 66 celebrates its centennial.
