Our School & Group Tours program provides an immersive, educational experience that deepens visitors’ understanding of Oklahoma’s role in the Civil Rights Movement, the historical significance of the Freedom Center, and the enduring legacy of Clara Luper and the NAACP Youth Council. Tours will explore both indoor and outdoor features of the campus. Our main exhibition, titled Inside These Walls, shares the forty-plus year history of the building through powerful photographs, original objects, digital interactives, and video storytelling.

This indoor exhibition is complemented by the Black History Wall and Monument on the building’s exterior. The Black History Wall features 331 tiles, each inscribed with a key fact in American history from the 1600s through the 1900s. The Monument features the faces of people who contributed to the fight for freedom locally and nationally. Finally, we will also introduce visitors to the forthcoming Clara Luper Civil Rights Center to be constructed just south of the historic building.
