Oklahoma City Freedom Center receives $50K donation to restore Black history wall

June 24, 2026

OKLAHOMA CITY — Paycom has donated $50,000 to the Freedom Center in Oklahoma City to restore its Black history wall and fund educational programs, ensuring the preservation of civil rights history.

A big check and a bigger mission were revealed at the historic Freedom Center. Paycom donated $50,000 to fund education programs and help restore the Black history wall — a mural that will feature more than 300 moments from Black history.

“We had placards that Clara Luper actually developed and placed on the wall, but as you know, over time, things start to deteriorate, and so we’re looking for permanent ways to place on the building to continue to spread their history,” said Jordan Broiles, program manager at the Freedom Center.

Marilyn Luper-Hildreth, daughter of civil rights icon Clara Luper, was present to accept the donation.
